In October of 1999, Japan's WOWOW satellite network began airing the animated version of Ayatsuri Sakon on Friday evenings at 7:30PM. According to Animerica, a promotional one-shot special aired August 16, 1999. The series is being directed by Hitoyuki Matsui (Animerica gives his name as Toshiyuki Matsui.) who is a former animator on "Devilman Lady." Toshimitsu Kobayashi provides character design and animation direction, as well as illustrations for the DVD/VHS covers and various magazine articles.  Chiho Katsura, at the time a relative newbie to the anime scene, heads up the screenplay department.  Episode Airdates are here.

Altered Image Gallery
These are images that were altered by myself (some a little, some a lot, none done very well) in an attempt to restore them to their original intended apperance.   Text was removed and the backgrounds and foregrounds were redrawn.  This means that these images are no longer exactly the official ones released by the company.  Instead, they are akin to fanart.  It's nice that so many people like these images so much, but am bothered that sites have been posting them without mentioning the changes, which are pretty glaring if you take a good look.  Most sites never even credit the original artist: Toshimitsu Kobayashi.  So now you know.  >^-^<  A grand reference for these images before alteration is available here:  http://www.csusm.edu/anime/galleries/A-B/AyatsuriSakon/
